On the 14th of August 2014 the Royal Bafokeng Nation and Rustenburg Local Municipality entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) which aims to strengthen relations between the two entities and joint effort for the development of the area, working together for the implementation of IDP (Integrated development Projects) in RBN.  The MoU identifies areas for corporation by the two entities and thus establishes certain institutional arrangements ie the implementation committee, monitoring and oversight committee and sub-committees. The RLM COO and the Manager in the Office of the COO Manager from the RLM and the RBA Executive Public Services Management and the Manager: Municipal Services are the custodians and managers of the relationships. The programme will monitor the implementation of the all the committees and projects emanating from these committees, by attending meetings with committees and one-on-one interactions from both sides to ensure that both sides implement, enforce and give effect to the terms of the MoU. 

In scope:

• Monitor the implementation of the terms of the MoU;
• Facilitate various committee meetings;
• Compile reports and submit reports to the Monitoring and Oversight Committee on a quarterly basis;
• To review the effectiveness of the MoU on an annual basis and as and when a need arises;
• To implement decisions of the Monitoring and Oversight Committee;
• To consider reports from the sub-Committee.
