Foundation Phase
The development of mother tongue, Setswana, in the Foundation Phase is supported in RBN schools through the Molteno, Break Through to Literacy Programme. The methodolgy and implementation of the programme has been workshopped with Grade 1 and 2 teachers and 2012 will focus on Grade 3 educators. Assistance will be given to Foundation Phase educators in the implementationof the new CAPS policy documents and the utilisation of the contents of the 'Zurich' trolleys.
Intermediate Phase
In 2011 all RBN primary schools were supplied with 'Zurich' trolleys complete with fiction and non-fiction books. Support will be given to Intermediate Phase teachers through 2012 in workshops on the use and implementation of the contents of the trolleys.
Senior Phase
Professional development workshops will be held on a termly basis extending the content knowledge and teaching skills of educators. Through 2012, 8 middle schools will be supplied with 'Zurich' trolleys providing support material for teachers and learners.
FET
Professional development workshops will take place on a termly basis on Grade 10 English FAL and the implementation of the CAPS policy documents. 6 high schools will be supplied with 'Zurich' trolleys where support material will be available for teachers and learners. |
