The standard of science teaching and learning in RBN is generally low. There are a lot of factors affecting the teaching and learning processes including lack of learning and teaching support materials and lack of motivation amongst educators and learners.  There is a need for working with both educators and learners to improve the teaching and learning of science and promoting an understanding of the importance of science in everyday lives.
The RBI Science Programme improves standards of science teaching and learning in RBN schools by working with and training the educators, providing relevant resource material, and modelling good practice in the science laboratories. In this way more Bafokeng learners should qualify for and cope with University and Tertiary courses in science, engineering, medical and related fields, building capacity of the Bafokeng people and South Africa.
