To monitor the set national standards for the effective control, prevention and management of healthcare associated infections so that hazards associated with biological agents are minimised for patients, visitors and healthcare personnel within RBN healthcare establishments.

In Scope:

• Identify areas of non compliance through clinical audits.
• Review and evaluate written policies and procedures in all patient care and service areas.
• Retraining programs to ensure competent IPC practices.
• Maintain an up todate Infection Control File that is available and accessible to all healthcare workers.
• Assist in organising regular IPC comittee meetings and document the proceedings.
