The Royal Bafokeng Institute (RBI) has been operational for three years and has been developing formal processes on how to achieve its strategic goals. A concern of the RBI has been how it can determine how well it is performing towards attaining its strategic RBI goals and how the RBI could be improved. Furthermore, because the RBI’s vision is to facilitate quality delivery of education, we need a mechanism for measuring the performance of schools in the Bafokeng region. Hence, this necessitates the establishment of Education Evaluation and Development Programme (EEDU) whose intention is to ensure that there is continuous monitoring and evaluation in all primary and secondary Royal Bafokeng Nation (RBN) schools.

All RBI clusters and projects are required to work together to bring about quality education that will be comparable to regional, provincial, national and international levels.  EEDU aims to continuously improve schools by addressing factors that will contribute towards continuous improvement in Bafokeng schools. Hence, EEDU is a continuous process which will involve interpreting data collected in schools to determine how well specific schools are performing.

• Improve Basic functionality of the school
• Promote the quality of school management, governance, communication and delegation
• Ensure that school infrastructure, safety and security are in place
• Promote quality of teaching and learning across the spectrum thus improving learner achievement
