The Royal Bafokeng Institute offers Technical, Vocational and Educational Training (TVET) programmes that are aimed at out-of-school training, especially for the youth who do not wish to, or do not qualify to attend a university. The post school Programme Qualification Mix offered at the Phokeng Campus included trimester based NATED N1 - N3 Electrical Engineering course that allows access into artisan apprenticeship. These programmes are phased out during 2019 and is intended to be replaced by skills and artisanal programmes related to Mechanical and Electrical Engineering in collaboration with reputable partners.
IN SCOPE
- Oversight of the PS Department in 2020 to ensure the effective and efficient sustainable future delivery of PS functions.
- Provisions of Post-school education and training [from 2010] in the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Band in the selected pivotal fields of study.
- Explore and find external funding sources such as discretionary grants to deliver post-school education and training.
- Explore and find alternative skills development programme offerings in the Engineering Field of Studies that may start in 2020.
