This project aims to improve two-way interaction between the administration and Morafe by 1) improving Morafe`s levels of knowledge about themselves and the RBN as a community, and 2) Eliciting Morafe's perceptions of and levels of satisfaction with services provided to them. This process will also result in a more well founded community needs analysis and be constructed in a manner that can be documented as a formal village profile.
Phase 1) will include communicating basic village level demographic and socio-economic data to Morafe, as well as summaries of recent interventions in their villages. The format of the information will be appropriate to the language and literacy levels of the community (using data visualization techniques) and will be developed and disseminated in a participatory manner to enhance local ownership of the data. An information package will be developed for each of the 29 villages.
The intention of the project is to increase pride and awareness among Morafe, pilot new communication mechanisms between RBN entities and Morafe, and strengthen village level initiatives to address socio-economic challenges themselves rather than waiting for RBN interventions. It will also provide RBN entities with feedback from communities that will inform programming and will provide some data towards the overall impact assessment of RBN entity activities. The project will start in April.
