Programme Executive Summary (Scope):

The Early Childhood Development (ECD) and Foundation Phase programmes were aims to provide services to targeted ECD centres and Grade R classes (3 to 6 year olds) in the Bafokeng Nation.
The scope of the programmes are as follows:
- Increase access to ECD services
- Implement teacher/practitioners’ training and development projects to improve the knowledge and competencies of ECD practitioner and newly qualified Grade R educators’
- Improve curriculum support to selected ECD centres and Grade R classes in all Bafokeng schools;
- Provide the Nutrition programme and education to the selected ECD centres;
- Train and support to the parents’ committees at the ECD centres to improve the management and governance at the selected ECD centres.
- Monitor and support implementation
- Collaborate with the NW Department of Education, community and key stakeholders in the delivery of the programmes
Out of Scope
- Provide transport to educators and/or children to and from school and on educational tours.
- Fund extra- curricular and other related activities.
