Programme Executive Summary (Scope):

The Student & Graduate Support Services is meant to provide student support services students in the greater Bafokeng community. The programme will support students from as early as their high school years, transitioning into university students thereafter graduates. SGSS focuses on providing group based and individual support, through the provision of specialised services. To produce a holistic student, SGSS must provide holistic student support being. Career guidance to be offered to high school students, financial support and access to alternative financial aids to high school and university students. The utmost most support services is to assure that students complete their respective qualifications within the prescribed duration of the qualification, being career/job ready to further redistribute their acquired knowledge and skills to the greater Bafokeng community.

SCOPE 

In Scope

The scope of this programme includes the following:

 

  • Provide advice career guidance to high school learners and serve as an advisory support to the greater Bafokeng community seeking to further their studies.
  • Provide and support candidates in their applications to South African Public Universities or Private Higher Education Institute.
  • Assistance in accessing financial support for candidates HEI, through NSFAS, alternative bursary schemes, or through the Royal Bafokeng Student Loan based on qualifying criteria (refer to student loan policy).
  • Monitor and track student academic performance by obtaining academic records directly from tertiary institutions. Provide student support services and interventions where necessary.
  • Operate within the allocated budget.
  • Follow policies and procedures as dictated by the RBI.
