Programme Executive Summary (Scope):

To develop, advise on implementation and amendment of the Spatial Development Master Plans. This will be achieved by ensuring that all developments are in line with the Master plan and recommendations of the Land committee. To further ensure that future land and development planning is co-ordinated and in line with spatial development needs of the RBN, through the continuous updating of the GIS and applications through the Land use management workflow.

In scope:

  • Advising on implementation and amendments of spatial development master plans;
  • Updating and revising of the 2035 RBN Master Plan;
  • Optimise land use for adherence to the 2035 RBN Master plan;
  • Improve land management;
  • Ensure that the RBN Master Plans is in line with the RBN strategies;
  • Liaise with RBN Institutions and the other relevant stakeholders (Mines, local authorities, Eskom, Cell phone providers, etc.) on planning matters
  • Incorporating the development plans for the relevant stakeholders (Mines, local authorities, Eskom, Cell phone providers, etc.) and evaluation and recommendations of applications relating to servitudes, mining rights etc.;
  • Comment on development and planning applications in terms of spatial planning needs; and 
  • Liaise with the GIS for development of spatial plans and provide the GIS with data and updates.
